FAHRENHEIT 451 #4


  1. The American society in this novel, is a society where books are outlawed and where firemen burn any house that have books in them.
  2. This is a story about how television destroys interest in reading literature.
  3. Guy Montag is the protagonist and fireman who presents the dystopia through the eyes of a worker loyal to it.
  4. The novel is frequently interpreted as being critical of state-sponsored censorship.
  5.  He said in a 2007 interview that the book explored the effects of television and mass media on the reading of literature.
